Knowledge Treks
The saying, “I would rather see a sermon than
hear one any day” encapsulates the academic philosophy of Mountain
Springs Preparatory Academy. Our outstanding, formal classroom
education is complimented by regular trips outside of the
classroom to study in nature’s classroom. We call these
education-led, field trips Knowledge Treks!
These special trips take
Mountain Springs students from Arches National Park to Death Valley to Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Tetons. With Bryce Canyon and Zion's National
Parks in our backyard, the students can experience the wonders of nature and science on a regular basis.
Students study history and government first hand on our annual Washington D.C. trek and experience the arts and culture
in London and Paris.
Students
describe these treks as “powerful,” “fun,” and “very helpful.”
They live and experience what they are studying rather than just
reading about it. Because many of our students are “hands-on”
learners, this unique approach works well for them. For all of our
students, these special treks provide memories and learning
experiences they will never forget.

"Imagine a Place where anything you
see is Beautiful, where you can look from where you are and
see a painting all around you. A place where the Rocks used to
be more than just Rocks, and at dawn and sunset are STILL more
than just rocks, a Land that has gone through so many changes
yet still remains the same. The Land of which I am speaking is
the Southwest".
